Zulu Warrior drawing

April 16, 2014

I’m working on a project for a museum in Cardiff at the moment. Putting together an exhibition that’s going to a place called Bad Ischl in Austria. Part of the work is a guide to the exhibition for children. I’ve just done this drawing of a Zulu Warrior for the guide. This is the first drawing I’ve done using some new Derwent Inktense pencils I brought a while ago – water-soluble ink pencils that are actually quite effective and unlike other similar pencils I’ve tried in the past if you don’t want the lines that the pencils draw you can blend them away completely with a brush. The main black line work is done with Indian ink and a dip pen.
