St Fagans National History Musuem

November 10, 2014

St Fagans is a fantastic museum that is on my doorstep on the outskirts of Cardiff. I visit regularly but for some reason haven’t done much drawing there. This will change.

Apart from a great indoor museum, which is actually undergoing reconstruction right now, the main attraction is the open air museum which consists of houses and other buildings, such as churches, shops and institutions, taken from their original locations throughout Wales and painstakingly rebuilt stone by stone, and brick by brick, within the grounds of St Fagans. There is also a 16th Century manor house so it’s not surprising that its Wales’s most popular heritage attraction.
